A GUIDE TO HELP YOU IN YOUR SEARCH FOR A PLACE TO LIVE, OR INVEST, IN NEWCASTLE, LAKE MACQUARIE OR MAITLAND
Fern Bay is the southernmost suburb of Port Stephens, bordered by Fullerton Cove to the north and the Newcastle suburb of Stockton to the south.
Much of the suburb is taken up by Worimi National Park and the grounds of Newcastle Golf Club, with the sprawling sand dunes of Stockton Beach to the east and the Hunter River to the west.
While still relatively sparsely populated, Fern Bay is growing, with Census data indicating that the Fern Bay-Fullerton Cove area grew 173% between 2011 and 2016.
Port Stephens Council and Newcastle City Council are currently collaborating on a land use strategy for Fern Bay and North Stockton, which will focus on commercial development and improving the supply of open space for residents.
